• Cub runners advance to state  -  HUMBLE, Texas — The Brenham Cub cross country team is going to the UIL state cross country meet for the third time in the past five years after placing third at the Class 4A Region III meet here Saturday.

• Panthers hang on to win 15-0
  FORT WORTH — North Crowley (2-7, 2-4) forced Weatherford (2-7, 2-4) into five turnovers in a 15-0 win.

• Elks have no answer for Timberview
  MANSFIELD – Mansfield Timberview continued on its fast pace through District 4-5A with a 41-23 thumping of Burleson on Friday night at R.L. Anderson Stadium.

• Crowley downs Boswell to advance
  Crowley swept Boswell, the No. 2 team in Class 4A, 26-24, 25-23, 25-23 in an area volleyball match Oct. 30 at Sam Houston High School in Arlington.

• Burleson expects nothing but tough competition in 4-5A
  BURLESON — A challenging preseason schedule awaits the Lady Elks, but all it can do is prepare them for tough District 4-5A contests.

  Earlier this year, Texas Monthly recognized Sealy High School as having one of the top-20 football programs in the state. Understandably, in a town which can boast a NFL Hall of Fame running back in Eric Dickerson, five state football titles and five state championship game appearances in the 1990’s, fans are used to success.

• Brenham 17th at LCISD  -  ROSENBERG, Texas — Brenham High School took its young swim teams on the road to take part in the Lamar Consolidated Invitational Meet, and faced some of the best competition it will see all season.

• Yellow Jackets beat Eagles to remain No. 1
  STEPHENVILLE – No. 1 Stephenville scored the final four touchdowns to erase a second-quarter deficit and thump Crowley 35-14 in District 8-4A action Friday.

The Skeeters rushed 21 times for minus-1 yard, and Lobo defensive end Markeith Woolridge spearheaded the effort
